Thinking outside the (cake) box
When our client, the Motor Insurers' Bureau, told us that they were looking for 350 specially decorated cupcakes for an event, we licked our lips. Hive love a challenge, and none better than an opportunity to show our flexibility in support of our clients' brands. The freshly-baked stylish confectionary creations were duly delivered, as promised, at 8.00am. And not one had been nibbled on the way.

Networking for grown-ups with a GSH
Business Live is a different way to network. Taking place every month in Milton Keynes, Leicester, and (very soon) Nottingham, the often boring world of business networking has been transplanted into the lively atmosphere of Bistro Live restaurants. The result? Informal and fun lunchtime events, where you can do business while enjoying yourself. And the food is great too.

David Lovesy has been compering these events in Milton Keynes since Business Live's launch two years ago, and despite his corny old jokes, the place is always full! If you would like to try one of the events for free, have a word with David and he'll try and pull a few strings....

Northern Ireland’s Visitor Inspired campaign
- with a little inspiration from Hive

Hive’s eShot campaign for the Northern Ireland Tourist Board has used eShots as a fast and highly efficient way to reach specific business audiences across Northern Ireland and other parts of the UK.

The latest campaign features initiatives ranging from improving IT skills, to maximising sponsorship opportunities, and holding group events. The next year is hugely important to NITB as it builds visitor numbers towards 2013 when, amongst other significant events, Derry-Londonderry will be the UK’s City of Culture.

Having already produced Gardenia’s main website, the family-run group of florists asked Hive to design a site, for their new business, gardenia @ home. With regular doorstep deliveries of gorgeous flowers and plants, along with newsletters, and free flowers on your birthday, it’s sure to have a big following in the coming months.

Filmology is a great organisation that allows companies to capture the excitement of the movies in their promotional or incentive programmes. Hive’s recent work for them includes the production of an engaging movie-themed campaign, aimed at marketing professionals. The campaign has already been a big commercial success, and now it’s up for an incentive industry Oscar! Darlings, we never imagined… (that’s enough. Ed)

It’s simple, says Simon
New media can be daunting, even for the best of us. At Hive, we relish the challenge every day. And now, to help bring even more skills and experience to our creative team, we have been joined by senior designer Simon Gurney. Having already established himself as a professional photographer, Simon has also trained BBC staff in the use of design software, so there’s not much he doesn’t know about programmes such as Dreamweaver, and Fireworks. He has also co-written a book for designers on the use of Photoshop. And did we mention that Simon also ran a scuba diving school in the Philippines?
